Welcome to the forum presence of Totally Raiding, Incorporated, a Feathermoon raiding conglomerate for the roleplay-friendly crowd to take their shot at endgame content. If you're a new recruit or hopeful sub, you're in the right place! Here's a bit of a road map to get you started.
* FAQ: here, learn a bit about TRI's history, mission, and general purpose in life. If your question isn't answered here, go ahead and post to ask it! * Recruitment: post here if you'd like to come along on some raids, or just make yourself available for folks! We currently do not really have a format for recruitment posts, but the more info you give us, the better. * Loot: loot rules and records for Totally 25-Man endeavors. * Strategies: How to kill things. Read this before a raid. * T25: Brain center for the 25-man content, including scheduling posts. Check this weekly for raid signup threads.
Our raiding schedule is currently as follows (all times are Server Time): Thursday: Totally 25-Man, invites at 17:30, pull at 18:00. We run until 21:00. Friday: Totally 25-Man, invites at 17:30, pull at 18:00. We run until 22:00.

Rules of the Road
Here at TRI, we take a certain pride in being a successful casual raid, who all recognize that our members have a lot of responsibilities, hobbies, and demands on their time that are not WoW endgame content. That doesn't mean we don't care about seeing content, or that we don't expect people to put effort into raiding - in fact, it's the very opposite. Because every raider's time is valuable, it's important that we don't waste each other's time or make it an unpleasant experience.
Pretty much every rule we go by can be summed up by the following catch-all phrase: Don't be a dick. Keep that in mind and you'll have no problems. But for the sake of clarification, here's the three main issues that people can be dicks about without realizing it, which we've had to address from time to time. Much of this is drawn from Calenbraga's excellent post on these subjects, which you should all read.
-Loot: show me a 40/25-man raid that has never had some kind of problem about loot, and I'll serve you some tasty porkchops made from the pigs flying out of my ass. Loot is shiny, we all like it, we put a whole damn council in place to deal with divvying it up fairly. The easiest way to avoid loot drama is to be aware of what's going on around you. Check loot tables ahead of time, inspect your likely competition and see what they're wearing, consider who's going to get the most use out of X item. Is this a huge upgrade or a minor one? Are you going to be able to replace it soon, or will this keep you for months and months? Is this character your raid main, or are you on an alt for whatever reason? Try to ask yourself a few of those questions before bidding on anything, and a lot of silliness can be avoided.
-Time: like I said before, everyone's time is valuable. Twenty-four other people are taking time out of their schedules to be at a raid, and we all want to have fun and use that time well, not have it wasted. If you sign up for a raiding night, think to yourself, "I have given over three or four hours of my time to this raid tonight. What do I need to do before then?" Take out the trash, feed the dog, lock the children in their cages*, whatever it is you need to do. If you're going to need to AFK at some point, warn the raid leader (generally Tarquin or Zalbuu) Read the strategies, make sure your gear is repaired, pay attention to ready checks, and generally remember that if you say you're going to be at a raid, that means you're raiding, not reading webcomics or playing Guitar Hero or what have you.
(*Tarquin may not be very good with kids.)
-Performance: Perhaps the touchiest of the issues, and one I personally do not like being a hardass about. The fact is, though, World of Warcraft is not a difficult game. Read the official WoW forums and look at some of the utter cocktards who are killing Yogg-Saron. You don't have to be some kind of video game savant, nor do we expect you to be, but we would like everyone to have a basic understanding of their class and role. The most difficult thing for a lot of people is realizing that at the endgame level, the character customization aspect of WoW drops off a lot - certain talent and gear choices are just going to perform better than others. Maybe it's a flaw in the game, but that's just the way it is. Generally speaking, we are willing to compromise to fit your general talent spec and preferred role, as long as you are willing to make some compromises to get the most out of that spec and role. Remember, most importantly, that if a raid officer talks to you about improving performance, this is not a reflection on you as a person. If we didn't like you, we wouldn't care whether you played well or not.
Keep these three major issues in mind as you groove through whatever instance we happen to wander into, and you'll do just fine.
